Although most aircraft are parked directly in front of the boarding area , passengers must reach their aircraft by bus for safety reasons . This feels particularly odd , as the distances between the gates and aircraft doors are sometimes as short as 30m ( 100ft ). When the apron is overbooked , Air Dolomiti sometimes parks its E-jets in a remote area close to the control tower .
We boarded our E2 and taxied all the way down the runway before turning 180 degrees and lining up for takeoff . When taking off from Florence , make sure to select an A seat to take in the view of the city ’ s skyline .

Once in the air , as my flight was leaving Florence ’ s Airport behind , I couldn ’ t help but think how it serves as the gateway to Tuscany , emboding its identity and blending modern convenience with the city ’ s rich cultural heritage and unique architecture . For now , it ’ s time to admire the city center as my flight climbs , bidding farewell until the next time .
