Once the flight crew acknowledges and signs the loadsheet , we are given the ‘ OK to go ’ and it is time to close doors . Immediately after , I perform the previously mentioned safety walk around the Boeing 747 . This time , the walkaround is much more significant , as I need to thoroughly check that none of the plane ’ s surfaces have received any type of damage during the turnaround and that all doors and registries are closed and locked .
If everything goes according to plan , I grab my headphones , connect to the cockpit , and clear the flight crew to start the four Rolls Royce RB211 engines . The turnaround has been terminated successfully , and I can proudly confirm that another aircraft will safely take off to its destination .
