await . The Norwegian airline shares with German carrier Condor a rather quiet check-in area in the easternmost section of Terminal 2 ’ s second floor .
On the day of my departure , six desks were open , one of which was reserved for Premium Economy passengers . As I had booked a ‘ Light ’ fare , I could not check in my baggage , as I had in Paris with Frenchbee . So , I just retrieved my boarding pass . As an American Express Platinum holder , entitled to access Centurion lounges around the world , I enquired with the agent whether , instead of going through immigration and security at Terminal 2 only to then be bussed to Terminal B , I could be allowed to proceed directly to LAX International terminal . She replied , “ Yes , of course .”

I exited T2 , walked the 300 yards to Terminal B , and joined the rather long queue at passport and security controls . The Centurion Lounge , which is located immediately past security , is the only one not managed by any specific airline in that terminal , and I found it quite busy and noisy . Yet , I managed to grab some food and a glass of Californian red wine and relax for half an hour before taking the ( very ) long walk to the 200 gates , following the same route I had taken in the opposite direction three days earlier
By the time I reached Gate 203 , most passengers had already boarded the Boeing 787-9 and using the dedicated priority boarding lane was pointless . A few seconds later , I was in the 56- seat Premium Economy cabin at the front of the plane , which was

almost full . As I was probably the last passenger to board that section of the aircraft , none of the Flight Attendants came by to offer me a welcome drink once I had settled into my 3A seat ( my neighbor told me that the choice had been between sparkling wine juices and water , served in plastic glasses ).
The cabin was arranged the same way as its Frenchbee counterpart , in a 2-3-2 crosssection layout , but along eight rows . At 16:30 sharp , we were pushed back from the gate amid the typical morning and afternoon fog coming in at LAX from the nearby Pacific Ocean . With the traffic being quite sparse that time of day , we were able to take off just 10 minutes later from Runway 24R , following an SAS ( SK ) Airbus A350-900 .

12 A beautifully , ‘ Norse ’ branded blanket was placed on the seat , along with a pillow .
13 Norse ’ s Premium Economy seats are oneinch wider than Frenchbee ’ s . But , more importantly , the pitch is 43 ”, or 7 ” more than on the French airline .
