16 on the IFE , which featured five sections : movies , TV series , my flight , shopping , and ‘ about us ’. The movie section featured 105 films , 20 of them new releases . The ‘ my flight ’ section contained no moving maps or cameras , just basic information about the progress of the flight .
I was surprised by the IFE ’ s lack of a music section . But the major shortcoming of Norse ’ s onboard product is the absence of Wi-Fi , an omission that is hard to understand as the airline flies such a new generation aircraft as the Boeing 787 .
Some six hours later , the cabin mood lighting was switched on in preparation for breakfast , which consisted of an omelet accompanied by spinach and hashbrowns , a bowl of yogurt , bread , butter , and jam . Coffee , tea , and juices came along . Overall , this meal was better than the dinner had been .
We started our descent while flying over North Wales and we touched down on Gatwick ’ s Runway 08R at 10:30 .
The way the food was presented inside the boxes was not bad at all , but trying to cut a rather overcooked and dry portion of chicken breast with a wooden knife can induce anxiety , to say the least .
After dinner , I asked the FA about the vanity kit and headphones ; he told me that they had been distributed immediately after boarding , probably before I had taken my seat . Anyway , a minute later , he came back and handed me a small plastic bag containing the headphones and two paper bags with eyeshade and earplugs . The cabin crew then informed us that they would not be serving any hot drinks or digestifs because we were flying through turbulence .
Cabin service came to an end with the promise ( made through the PA system ) of an English breakfast to be served an hour and a half before our landing at London Gatwick .
