A long queue formed to visit the aircraft . Once onboard , I immediately entered the aircraft ’ s cockpit and noted the registration , PH-AXA , shining above the artificial horizon .
The aircraft ’ s Business Class , which spans the first six rows in a 3-3 configuration , is equipped with Recaro BL3710 leather upholstered seats , which provide generous 32 ” of legroom and adjustable headrests .
|
The middle seat of each trio is blocked , as is customary on European Business Class products . The two cabins are separated by a relatively small curtain , which does not truly provide a feel of division .
In Economy , KLM has followed several of Transavia ’ s design choices for its A321neos . The same Recaro seat , SL3710 , makes up rows 7 to 39 . As at Transavia , the Economy seat provides no headrest and does not recline . The legroom is marginally more generous than KLM ’ s A321neo in Economy .

Each Economy seat comes with a USB charger and a personal device holder , with the latter also integrating the cup holder . Underneath , a pocket holds the safety card and a magazine .
Overall , it is a good — but not sensational — cabin configuration . It is clear that the type is intended to fly mostly short , high-density sectors , which justifies the seating decisions . And the aircraft ’ s 227 seats mean that its emissions per passenger will be some of the lowest in the world for a legacy carrier .
