Israel , had barred Israel ’ s flag carrier , El Al , as well as other Israeli airlines , a blow to the Israeli soccer fans hoping to attend the 2022 FIFA World Cup . On November 21 , 2022 , TUS Airways flew 180 soccer fans from Tel Aviv to Doha .
In November and December 2022 , the airline operated six additional round-trip flights between Tel Aviv and Doha to transport more than a thousand soccer fans to the Persian Gulf . Starting on March 26 , 2023 , TUS Airways expanded its flight network even more , operating a third flight on its Larnaca-Heraklion route every Sunday . It continued flights to Paris in the summer . The airline also increased its flights between Larnaca and Tel Aviv to 11 per week and flew up to four times a week between Paphos and Tel Aviv . In 2023 , the airline also continued flights to Preveza , Greece , Tel Aviv , and Dusseldorf .
Starting on June 7 , 2023 , TUS Airways launched direct flights to Bratislava and Kosice in Slovakia . In summer 2023 , the airline was operating seven weekly direct flights between Larnaca and the two largest Slovak cities .
In September 2023 , TUS Airways was the largest airline of Cyprus in terms of personnel and staff , and used one of its aircraft ( 5B-DKK ), which was based in Israel , for two daily flights to Prague . The other four aircraft , based in Cyprus , flew from Larnaca , Paphos , and Tel Aviv to Athens , Paris , Dusseldorf , Bratislava , and Kosice , and to the Greek destinations of Chania , Heraklion , Corfu , Kefalonia , and Preveza .
