“ What we look for in new recruits goes beyond the ordinary ,” Chang said . “ The core values of the flight attendants ’ job are safety and service , requiring discipline and enthusiasm . We are looking for recruits who are willing to confront and resolve issues actively and are interested in continual personal growth . Additionally , given our worldwide flight operations , language proficiency and physical fitness are extremely important for flight attendants .”

Chang said , spanning ground training , safety protocols , and service to passengers . Passenger safety is the top priority . The program devotes about twice as much attention to safety instruction as passenger service .
Still , she said , “ What attracts passengers may be safety at first , but service is the most important factor in keeping their hearts and minds . So , both safety and service are treated with the highest standards at EVA Air .”
