AIRWAYS INTERVIEW
In most cases , people would drive instead of flying . For most of our customers , I think that , if you ’ re traveling with a dog or if you have small children , you are likely to consider driving for five or six hours as opposed to fighting your way through an airplane terminal . In that respect , in our short haul markets — such as Dallas to Houston , or Northern to Southern California — the car can be considered our primary competitor . experience . It ’ s a win-win all around . That ’ s the secret to our success .
Who do you think is your competitor ? Is it more the private jet industry or the premium commercial aviation products ? I would say it ’ s actually neither . I would say it ’ s mostly the freeways .
In longer markets , it ’ s everybody . As I said , people who have access to private aviation also fly regularly with us . Certainly , most people don ’ t have access to private jets and so will fly on premium commercial aviation . We don ’ t really spend a lot of time thinking about our competitors . We spend all our time thinking about our customers . If we take care of our customers , we don ’ t have to worry about our competitors .
Could you tell us more about the security ? What sets JSX apart from flying with traditional airlines , or even private ? We do have a security program approved by the TSA , and we go above and beyond the requirements of that program . At the airport , we run weapon and explosive detection , as well as ID checks .
