MagniX , AeroTEC , and Air Tindi ( 8T ) have teamed up for NASA ’ s Electrified Powertrain Flight Demonstration project . A retrofitted Dash 7 aircraft , powered by two PT6 engines and two MagniX magni650 electric propulsion units , will serve as a flying testing lab . The aim : to reduce costs and noise , and boost efficiency in commercial aviation .

Aerocardal ( CDA ) is set to replace its current fleet of three Dornier 228s with OMNIPOL LET 410NGs . The Chilean operator is expecting delivery of its first LET in October , and the remaining two next year . Aerocardal operates three Dornier 228s , mostly for customers in the mining industry .

On August 26 , the last aircraft wearing the iconic LAN Airlines ( LA ) livery traveled to Abu Dhabi ( AUH ), via Madrid ( MAD ), to be resprayed in the current LATAM Airlines design . Chile-based LA flies to more than 65 destinations and belongs to the oneworld alliance .
