EDITOR ’ S BRIEFING
IT ’ S A PLEASURE to introduce myself to you all . I ’ m Simone Chellini , Managing Editor at Airways . I am penning this letter immediately after the 2024 Farnborough Airshow as Roberto , our Editor-in-Chief , has taken a few weeks off ( no worries , he ’ ll be back by the next issue !)
My career with Airways started four years ago , when I joined the social media team . Since then , many things have happened , not only in the world of commercial aviation but also in our publication . My first-ever airshow was Farnborough in 2022 , and it was the comeback of the industry after the COVID-19 pandemic . It was there that I fell even more in love with the world of commercial aviation , and thought about ways to bring more innovation and vision to Airways .
Two years have passed , and the Farnborough Airshow returned for 2024 and so did we . Our social media channels in Facebook , Instagram , X , and YouTube had thousands of views , beating our most direct competitors . Our website www . airwaysmag . com also reached record numbers of visits . In this issue , Juan José de Gouveia discusses airBaltic ’ s strategy with Martin Gauss , the airline ’ s CEO . The airline recently welcomed its 50th A220-300 and has big plans for its future . I take a deep dive into Farnborough , bridging between FIA2022 and FIA2024 , where Embraer unveiled updates to its E-jets as well as an exciting market outlook .
Last , but not least , our new Editor-at-Large Adrian Nowakowski reports from his visit to Harbour Air , a story that is also available on our YouTube channel .
We at Airways always want to bring you the most distinctive , impactful , and exciting content possible , whether through a social media post , article , or video , with its core being the paper pages you are holding right in your hands or on the screens of your electronic device , which I hope you will enjoy .
