Virgin Australia ( VA ) took delivery of its first Boeing 737-8 and named it Monkey Mia after the Shark Bay region of Western Australia , a World Heritage site listed in 1991 .
Go First ( G8 ), one of India ’ s oldest private airlines , has temporarily ceased operations after filing for bankruptcy in May , citing financial losses caused by increased costs and engine procurement issues . On June 26 , the airline ’ s creditors approved interim financing aimed at returning it to operations . As of press date , the plan is pending board approval .
Garuda Indonesia ( GA ) has applied a colorful design to one of its Boeing 737-800s promoting Bank Mandiri ’ s mobile banking app . A second aircraft , also a 737- 800 ( WL ) ( PK-GFI ), wears the same livery .
