AIRPORT REVIEW St . John Airport
to position YSJ so that Flair can operate from it on a yearround basis .
DIVERSIFICATION IS KEY
Lori Carle , YSJ ’ s Manager of Marketing , Public and Corporate Relations , brought up the phrase “ the little things add up ” to describe St . John ’ s commitment to improving its passenger numbers and exploring ways to guarantee its existence for years to come .
Every single investment made to the airport contributes to the newest and largest expansion plan , which was announced in January 2023 . The completion of the runway and the planned development of the new logistics park have all made the airport more attractive to potential clients and tenants . Flight schools , airlines , and aerospace companies are all looking for an airport they can trust and invest in to house
their business , the airport ’ s supporters say .
“ The diversification of services is key to our development ,” Ross said . Besides the logistics park , he has also proposed the idea of making YSJ home to MRO ( Maintenance , Repair and Overhaul ) stations for aircraft manufacturers such as Airbus , Boeing and TBM . This modestsize airport is definitely looking ahead .
6 Flair Airlines returned to Saint John Airport for the summer 2023 season , adding more flights than it had in 2022 .
7 Air Canada is one of the two airlines serving St . John this summer . The airline has also added more frequencies to its destinations from YSJ .
