Captain Kam Majd took to the skies for about 45 years , with his last job being a Boeing 777 Captain based in Los Angeles for American Airlines ( AA ). Now retired , he focuses on writing suspense thrillers . His newest work , High Wire , is based on the story of a young female Pilot flying an aircraft contaminated with a lethal computer virus .
