The 727s arrived and Pacific immediately leased two of them to National Airlines . The remaining three went on-line in July 1966 . Pacific ’ s most profitable nonstop route , San Jose-Los Angeles , had just been invaded by intra-state carrier PSA ( Pacific Southwest Airlines ), bringing low-fare competition to one of Pacific ’ s breadand-butter markets . Pacific immediately put its new jets on the San Jose-LA route .
