Visitors can sit in the cockpit of a full-scale replica of the Spirit of St . Louis and experience what Lindbergh endured during his record-setting flight . Charles was 6ft , 2in tall , so no one would call it roomy . Cathy is an even 5ft , and she barely squeezed in .
A J-C5 engine sits in a Plexiglas case on the nose cone to provide a good view of the power plant . A display of some of the items Lindbergh brought with him — a water canteen , a flashlight , a ball of yarn for any needed clothing repairs — was interesting to see . Again , nothing heavy .
