Production of the Dash 8-100 , which was first introduced in 1983 , ceased in 2005 . The airliner features two turboprop engines embedding the main landing gear , a high wing , and a T-tail . This combination minimizes its take-off and landing distance , enabling the type to operate from runways

as short as 2,500ft ( 760m ) while carrying up to 39 passengers .
In April 2018 , Widerøe became the launch customer for the Embraer E190-E2 , the first jet to ever join its fleet . Today , the airline flies three E2s ( LN-WEA , LB-WEB , and LN-WEC ), which carry 110 passengers . These aircraft are deployed on highdensity routes in Norway and on international segments .
