100 YEARS OF DELTA AIR LINES
BOEING 737-700 ( 2008-2020 )
Beginning in August 2008 , Delta received 10 Boeing 737-700s . In 2010 , Delta used the type to open a new route between Atlanta and Tegucigalpa , Honduras . The aircraft enabled Delta to add service to challenging airports with short runways , extreme temperatures , and high altitudes , such as Tegucigalpa ’ s . However , DL retired the type during the COVID-19 pandemic . It dropped the last aircraft from its fleet in September 2020 .

AIRBUS A319 / A320 ( 2008-PRESENT )
The 2008 merger with Northwest Airlines also brought the Airbus A320 family aircraft to the Delta fleet . Northwest took delivery of the A319s between 1999 and 2003 , and of the A320s between 1989 and 1993 . The backbone of Northwest ’ s domestic fleet , these planes have come to play a similar role in Delta ’ s network today .

AIRBUS A330 ( 2008-PRESENT )
Delta Air Lines also gained the Airbus A330 in its 2008 merger with Northwest . Northwest had 11 A330- 200s and 21 A330-300s . Delta took delivery of its first factory-fresh A330- 300 in 2015 , operating it primarily on Atlantic and Pacific long-range routes . The aircraft also provides DL ’ s network with more flexibility in matching capacity to demand . Delta ordered 25 A330-900s in November 2014 , and 10 more in November 2018 . DL has come to substitute the A330neo for the Boeing 767-300 ( ER ).
