On December 1 , 2022 , after 28 years of operation , Air Nostrum transported its 100 millionth passenger . The milestone came on a flight from Seville ( SVQ ) to Valencia ( VLC ), operated by a CRJ-1000 ( EC-MSB / MSN : 19057 ) that carried a sticker marking the occasion .

With the help of the Spanish flagship carrier , Iberia Airlines ( IB ), Carlos Bertomeu and a team of private investors from Valencia founded Air Nostrum to connect their city , Spain ’ s third largest , with Europe and the rest of the world .
Before switching some flights from Valencia ( VLC ) to Madrid ( MAD ), the new airline served 23 cities from the Mediterranean city : 19 in Spain , two in Morocco , and the rest in Europe . In 2011 , it operated 9,679 flights from
Valencia , totaling more than 600,000 seats .
In 2023 , Air Nostrum operated 4,052 flights from Valencia to 19 cities , including the seasonal routes . That was just a fraction
