As the chilly rain fell , a crowd of employees , journalists , and executives gathered in Transavia ’ s Hangar 5 in Amsterdam Schiphol . Having landed on Runway 27 after a short flight from Hamburg ( XFW ), PH-YHZ taxied over to the celebration venue , and a few Transavia executives deboarded . The celebration started immediately after the many speeches , and a long line formed to board the aircraft .
Until this moment , Transavia Netherlands had been flying an all-Boeing fleet with the Boeing 737-700 and -800 , with the latter , the largest airliner in its fleet , able to carry 189 passengers . The new A321neo topped this by more than 40 seats , being capable of carrying 232 passengers in a similar range of missions .
