the flight . After almost an hour in the air , we descended into Milan Linate .
IN MILAN
After landing we taxied past a blue line of ITA Airways Airbus aircraft . For the first time in years , I could see no aircraft wearing Alitalia ’ s old livery .

Overall , it had been a comfortable flight with no exceptional onboard amenities . The hard product is comfortable enough for way longer flights ; however , the lack of entertainment is the missing icing on the cake . At Linate — ITA ’ s second hub , from where it operates flights to both domestic and international destinations — we parked at a jet bridge stand 80 minutes after taking off from Brindisi . My aircraft would continue to Dusseldorf while a new A220-300 ( EI-HHM ) would take me home to Amsterdam . As we left the plane , nobody was at the door to say goodbye — this may have been the first time it had happened to me in hundreds of flights .

Milan Linate Airport recently underwent significant renovations , including improvements to the pre-security and security areas . My gate that day , A13 , was in the airport ’ s old side , just before the renovated departure hall . Boarding was even more chaotic than in Brindisi ; two lines got mixed up , and the
