Of course , sleep quality was significantly worse than that I might have enjoyed had I been on a full-flat bed . However , the overall product enabled me to arrive in Ho Chi Minh in a morethan-acceptable condition in the early morning , giving me enough energy to enjoy a full day in the city .
During the hours designated for sleep , which took up the third quarter of the journey , a small group of passengers stayed awake , watching movies , listening to music , or doing what work they could offline . The cabin crew kept ensuring these passengers ’ comfort by handing out much-appreciated drinks every hour .
Interestingly , there was a quick serving of instant soup , but only for native Vietnamese passengers . Later , I found out that these were not preordered meals , but could not find the specific reason for this preference during this segment of the flight .
9 Unlike the Boeing 787 , the Airbus A350 still has physical window shades , even though polarizing windows are already being installed on newer aircraft .
10 The biggest drawback of all the flight was the complete lack of Wi-Fi service , which is baffling given the age and modernity of the airframe .
11 Before lunch , Vietnam Airlines takes the risk of offering a single snack choice consisting of Wasabi peanuts , which may be disliked by some passengers .
12 A very wide range of movie titles was on offer , including some from Southeast Asia . Less attention was paid to TV series . catering service were the metal cutlery and real glasses , even in Economy Class . Again , these little luxuries are usually only seen in Business Class .
All the while , the cabin crew members were constantly looking after the passengers and offering additional wine , coffee , and tea .
SLEEP QUALITY
Almost all of the intercontinental connections served by Vietnam

Airlines involve at least five hours of sleep time . It was therefore important to assess in detail the bedding provided by Vietnam Air . As mentioned earlier , a blanket and pillow had been waiting on the seat . These items are standard on most long-haul flights , but Vietnam Airlines does stand out in the better quality of the material .
The generous legroom and the adjustable headrest enabled me to easily find a comfortable position to get some rest .
With just three hours remaining until arrival , the cabin lights ’ intensity was progressively turned up as the sun rose on the horizon . Another hot towel service helped passengers freshen up for breakfast service , which started with a wake-up cup of Vietnamese tea or coffee .
FINALLY , ARRIVAL
After the surprisingly highquality and complete meal service we had received after taking off from Charles de Gaulle , the breakfast before arrival did not disappoint in the slightest . It also consisted of two-options for the main dish , complemented by bread and
