Serving its secondary purpose , an airline ’ s timetable touted the latest aircraft (“ TTA proudly introduces the jet-powered Silver Cloud 600 ”), the newest route (“ Delta enters New York ”), and the latest innovations in service (“ Braniff inaugurates its Silver Service , a new concept in elegance aloft ”).

A route map was usually included within the pages of a timetable as were fare tables and airport information ( name of the airport served , distance from the city center , etc .). Also included were the addresses of city ticket offices ( CTOs ) – more relics from a bygone era .
