Lawrence Seaway . Although it was mostly cloudy , I could see parts of that city below .
As we were flying toward dawn , the cabin crew requested that all window shades be closed so that passengers could sleep . But , try as I might , I could not sleep . This was likely due to my size — I ’ m too tall to use the headrest — and possibly because I had had a cup of the ( very strong ) coffee not long before .

Here , I need to praise the cabin crew for their exemplary service . They were all fluent in English , of course , and they were so professional and unintrusive to the point of being almost invisible . Yet , they anticipated the needs of passengers so well that only once or twice did anyone have to use the call button to request service . From their neat and professional appearance to their efficient performance , they were excellent .
NIGHT FLIGHT
Our flight path took us past Montreal and out over the St .
The cabin went dark for a few hours . While most passengers slept , a few others nearby continued to use their IFE systems , the luminosity of which added to my difficulty in trying to conk out .
We enjoyed an uneventful nighttime flight segment — just a few turbulence bumps . Quiet , calm , relaxing .
